How to jailbreak iOS 8.1.1 and iOS 8.1.2 with TaiG

TaiG jailbreak for iOS 8.1.2 is currently available for Windows only. But if you are a Mac OS X user, fear not as here we have detailed steps on how you can use TaiG for Windows on your Mac. This process involves installing a free test version of Windows 10 in a virtual machine on a Mac, and then using TaiG for Windows in a virtualized environment to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 8.1.2.

The TaiG jailbreak tool for iOS 8.1.1 is the Apple devices-related news of the week. Developed by a group of Chinese hackers – we’ve got the English translation for TaiG – the tool can easily jailbreak all iPhones, iPads, and the iPod touch (fifth generation) on iOS 8.1.1:
  • iPhone: 6, 6 Plus, 5s, 5c, 5, 4S
  • iPad: 2, 3, 4, Air, Air 2, mini, mini 2, mini 3
  • iPod touch: fifth-generation, latest model

TaiG untethered jailbreak guide

Step 1 - Establish connection between your Windows PC and iOS device by using a USB data cable and then disable two features, the passcode lock and Find my Phone.

Step 2 - Download the latest TaiG tool and after extracting it, users are required to launch the tool.

Step 3 - The tool will detect the iDevice you connected to the PC and it will show you the name of your device on its interface. You can go ahead by clicking on the green coloured Start button but before you do that, you need to uncheck the tick mark for 3K Assistant app installation.

Step 4 - The TaiG tool will begin with the jailbreaking process, and within few minutes the tool will notify the user when it finishes successfully.

Step 5 - Now you can start Cydia on your iDevice and enjoy all the new features.

The team also mentioned in an interview that a Mac version of the tool is in the works, but they have no idea when it will be released. Turns out, the TaiG team has finished working on an iOS 8.2 jailbreak and are waiting for Apple to release it publicly. The current version does support iOS 8.2, but this function is currently disabled
